Final Phase of E&CSP Benefits North County Agencies

An agreement with Valley Center Municipal Water District and Yuima Municipal Water District in November advanced the final phase of the Water Authority’s $1.5 billion Emergency & Carryover Storage Project. The planned infrastructure improvements allow Valley Center and Yuima to use the facilities for day-to-day use while allowing for emergency water deliveries when imported water deliveries are interrupted. The agreements help the Water Authority avoid higher capital costs, along with operation and maintenance costs associated with these facilities while meeting its E&CSP water delivery obligations.
