Business Services
The Water Authority formed with nine charter members in 1944 to administer the region’s Colorado River rights, import water, and take over operations of the regional aqueduct.
Administrative Services Team Delivers Stellar Service
In fiscal year 2019, the Administrative Services Department completed numerous projects and initiatives to enhance the Water Authority’s physical and cyber security, upgrade key business applications, and build new tools to track Capital Improvement Projects. The team found new ways to reduce security risks, provided award-winning procurement services, improved document management through software, handled thousands of service requests, and installed a new leak-proof roof at the Kearny Mesa headquarters.
The newly rehabilitated roof at the Kearny Mesa office building was installed with a PVC waterproofing
membrane to allow for uninterrupted use of the building and will extend the roof's service life an
additional 20 years.
