Citizens Water Academy Tops 500 Graduates

The award-winning Citizens Water Academy reached 500 graduates in October and was expanded to include an additional class for public agency, member agency and Water Authority staff. During the popular academy program, civic leaders get an in-depth look at how the Water Authority and its member agencies help sustain the region’s economy and quality of life through strategic planning, innovative programs, and long-term investments. The Citizens Water Academy started in fall 2014, producing a diverse inaugural class of 49 graduates. Over the years, 99 percent of participants said they would recommend the Water Academy to a colleague or friend, and nearly 50 percent of graduates stay engaged through the Water Authority’s alumni program.
