Finance Team Earns Honors
In June, the Government Finance Officers Association awarded the Water Authority’s Finance Department a Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting for its comprehensive annual financial report. It was the 19th consecutive year that the Water Authority has earned the Certificate of Achievement – the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting.
In addition, the Water Authority received its sixth consecutive annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award from the National Procurement Institute, in collaboration with several leading organizations. The institute measures public and non-profit organizations based on innovation, professionalism, e-procurement, productivity and leadership attributes. The Water Authority was one of only 46 agencies in California to receive the award, and one of only 39 special districts in the U.S. and Canada.
