Water Authority Offices Closed to Public
March 16, 2020
Starting Monday, March 16, the San Diego County Water Authority is closing its Kearny Mesa and Escondido facilities to the public as part of the nationwide effort to limit the spread of coronavirus.
Like other public agencies across the region, the Water Authority is taking several precautionary steps to protect employees and minimize opportunities for virus transmission. Those steps include cancelling non-essential meetings, holding critical meetings electronically, and minimizing travel.
Water supplies in the San Diego region remain safe due to a robust, ongoing series of treatment technologies that deactivate and remove viruses and bacteria. In fact, the U.S. EPA recommends that Americans continue to use and drink tap water as usual.
The Water Authority will continue to monitor the situation closely and make adjustments as the situation changes.
