The San Diego County Water Authority, its member agencies and The Home Depot have teamed up for a series of San Diego County garden-friendly plant fairs this fall, which is the most successful planting season for drought tolerant plants.  Residents interested in making their yards and gardens more attractive and water efficient will have an opportunity to save up to 50 percent on select varieties of low-water-use plants and receive information from gardening experts at select The Home Depot locations around the county.

The first of the fall series of seven plant fairs will take place on Saturday, Sept. 15 at different locations around the county. Each plant fair will feature discounts on more than 20 types of plants pre-selected by a panel of experts as water-efficient for the San Diego region.  Landscape industry experts will be available to provide customers with information on water-efficient irrigation supplies and advice on how to select and plant low-water-use plants.

Certified nursery consultants, local growers and local retail water agency staff will be on hand to answer questions concerning low-water-use plants and irrigation.
