Helix 9 Flow Control Facility
Project Background
The project involves the demolition of the existing Helix 1 Flow Control Facility (FCF) and the construction of a new Helix 9 Flow Control Facility. The current Helix 1 FCF, located on the La Mesa Sweetwater Extension pipeline, was originally constructed in the 1940s and has reached the end of its service life.
The replacement will include the installation of new piping, a larger facility, upgraded valves, and new electrical and control systems. These enhancements will ensure continued reliable service for the Helix Water District and the R.M. Leavy Water Treatment Plant for many years.
