Spent the morning touring the Carlsbad Desalination Plant with U.S. Congressman scottpeterssd and the team from San Diego County Water Authority, including my fellow board member Fern Steiner and our General Manager Sandy Kerl. This water resource is incredibly important and allows us to achieve a higher level of resilience in the face of a changing climate that will be extremely impactful on our water supplies. #sdcwa #sdwd #climatereslience
Exciting news! Thanks to a collaboration with sdcwa and sdge we`ve been able to install 365 water saving fixtures throughout Balboa Park. This is expected to save approximately 2.4 million gallons of water annually, the same amount of 3.6 Olympic sized pools! Even Kermit the Frog is enjoying the low flow toilets 👍🏽🐸💧🚰🚽 •

Last week we flew members of the San Diego County Water Authority on a custom group helicopter tour that utilized two helicopters. The tour helped staff members and personnel with the California Water Board survey lakes, rivers, estuaries, dams and pump stations in San Diego County.
By helicopter, this inspection took two hours, rather than a full day of driving.
