Regional Outreach Efforts Generate Buzz About Water Safety, Reliability
The Water Authority advanced its regional Trust the Tap outreach and education platform to assure the public about the safety of water as the COVID-19 pandemic continued. As part of the campaign, the Water Authority and its 24 member agencies partnered with Encinitas resident and Grammy-award winning musician Jon Foreman of Switchfoot in November 2020 to create a series of videos highlighting how tap water across the region meets or exceeds stringent state and federal standards. The three-video series with Foreman reached more than 350,000 views.
In addition, the Water Authority worked with the Southern California Water Coalition and others to create a new video series about recycling water in November 2020. The informative video series was created to educate the public on the use of recycled water in Southern California. The three-video series with Foreman was viewed by more than 350,000 times on YouTube and shared widely on social media.
