FY 2022 Annual Report
Over the past year, the Water Authority Board and staff met numerous challenges with a collaborative approach for the good of the San Diego County community. And there were no shortage of challenges. In fact, the magnitude of managing water has never been more complex.
From repairing pipelines and protecting the Carlsbad Desalination Plant from an oil spill to combatting inflation and navigating extreme drought conditions, 2022 was non-stop. Through it all, the agency enhanced its vision and values, then applied them to gather stakeholders together around big issues like ensuring equitable access to water, collaborating to mitigate the effects of climate change, and enhancing water security for the next generation through the master planning process.
It's only with the daily dedication and determination of Water Authority staff in the field and in our offices that we continue to lead for the benefit of our member agencies and the region. This work also requires the continued support and vision of the Board of Directors, who provide strategic guidance through robust dialogue and deliberation.
Together, we delivered lasting solutions for San Diego County.
In FY 2022, the 36-member Board of Directors was led by a dedicated roster of officers, along with general manager Sandra Kerl.
