As a part of California’s Water Awareness Month, the San Diego County Water Authority is inviting residents around the county to learn more about and discuss the region’s water supply and on-going efforts to ensure future water reliability.
A community forum will take place Tuesday, May 31, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., at the Water Authority’s Kearny Mesa headquarters, located at 4677 Overland Avenue.
This forum, “Water Talks - Investing in Reliability,” will feature presentations on the region’s water supply challenges, factors driving water rates and the Water Authority’s strategy to provide the safe and reliable water supply needed to support the region’s $186 billion economy and its more than 3 million people.
Speakers will include Water Authority Board Chairman Michael T. Hogan, Assistant General Manager Dennis Cushman and Finance Director Eric Sandler. Tours of the Water Authority’s WaterSmart garden will be available prior to the presentations.
The event is free and open to the public, however, registration is highly recommended because seating space is limited. Participants can RSVP online by May 26 or get more information at www.sdcwa.org/water-talks.
