The San Diego County Water Authority is required by state and federal law to provide an analysis and public disclosure of the potential environmental impacts of its development projects. The protocol for this disclosure is pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA, California Public Resources Code § 21000 et seq.; CEQA Guidelines, California Code of Regulations Title 14 § 15000 et seq.). In certain cases, procedures must also meet federal requirements pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA, 42 U.S. Code 4321-4347).
