School-Wide Assemblies
When selecting one of our free school-wide assemblies, please choose one of the three theater programs that corresponds with the number of students at your school. We are only able to provide one school-wide assembly per school, per year.

H2O, Where Did You Go?
(K-6th grade) A musical assembly about water science
The San Diego County Water Authority is pleased to sponsor, "H2O, Where Did You Go?" from Building Blocks Entertainment Inc. This theatrical school assembly will keep your K-6 students engaged for 45 minutes as they learn about the water cycle, states of matter, and water facts. While emphasizing water conservation, the show intertwines comedy and music to make learning fun. Each teacher will receive materials that reinforce concepts presented in the assembly.

The Magic of Water
(K-6th grade) An extraordinary new magical water education show

This is an award-winning science magic show starring professional magician Dr. Wilderness, his assistant Rayne Waters, and “Spigot” the amazing robotic water bird. It’s an upbeat and highly engaging 40 minute program overflowing with exciting water education, lots of audience participation and of course, some dazzling magical effects. It’s a torrential outpouring of fun and learning that focuses on the water cycle, the properties of water, where water comes from and what kids should know about conservation and wise water use.

Splashtastic!
(K-6th grade) A fantastic magical expedition exploring the wonders of water
Dr. Wilderness presents an astonishing program of magic and water education in this eye-popping, awe inspiring presentation that has been featured in hundreds of schools and water festivals nationally. In this 40-minute assembly, students explore the science of water and trace its long journey to San Diego from the Colorado River and Northern California. We open the flood-gates of learning with great magic! Awesome visual demonstrations! High-tech audio, video, and audience participation.

Classroom Presentations
Adapting to Desert Life
(3rd grade) Classroom presentation

Through the use of discussion, visuals, and storytelling students will compare how the Kumeyaay of the past adapted to living in an arid region and how modern day San Diegans survive in this region. Students will learn where our water comes from and the importance of our imported supply. A Native American drought-related story will be shared with the students to impress upon them the importance of water in desert climates and that even semi-arid climates can suffer from shortages. Students will learn the importance of oral traditions and the use of symbols in Native American history. The presentation will conclude with a popular Native American game.

Exceptions may be made for schools with more than one track or with more third-grade classes than can be visited in one day. Weather and Water in San Diego
(5th grade) Classroom Presentation

Why doesn’t San Diego get more rain? What types of weather events have an impact on our climate? Do the ocean and the water cycle play a part? Where does our water come from? Why is it important to conserve water? These are some of the questions that will be answered during the Water Authority’s fifth-grade classroom presentation. This 60-minute presentation adheres to the fifth-grade science standards and utilizes lecture, visuals, scientific demonstrations, and a hands-on activity. Let us help you prepare for the CSTs. Teachers are given class sets of a student workbook, "Watersheds, Water and You."

Splash Science Mobile Lab
(4th-6th grade) A field trip that comes to your school

The Splash Lab is a completely self-contained mobile lab that provides students with hands-on science experience. It is truly a field trip that comes to your school and includes:
• New watershed/storm drain model
• State-of-the-art GIS computer stations
• A water conservation station
• A San Diego estuary station
• Microscopes with video projection
• Chemistry experiments
• Cooperative learning skills
Students investigate how water pollution affects the environment and wildlife, and learn why it is important to conserve water. The Splash Science Mobile Lab is designed for students in the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades and is aligned with the California Science Content Standards and Environmental Education Principles and Concepts. Participating classes will receive sets of student workbooks and a DVD developed specifically for this program which includes pre and post activities.

COST: $550 paid to the San Diego County Office of Education. Check with your local water agency for possible assistance with funding.
