Meager totals from storm

I guess we can't whine too much about the piddly storm last night. Lindbergh got just 0.08 of an inch. Other numbers around the region are available here. As the forecasters predicted, the mountains didn't get much. ...

That 0.08 at Lindbergh raised the monthly total to 3.38 inches, making January tied for our wettest month since February, 2005, when 5.83 inches was measured. December of 2008 also recorded 3.38 inches. ...

Still an outside chance of a little bit of rain Saturday, but the odds keep getting more and more outside. And there's not much chance of anything next week, said Ivory Small, the local NWS' science guy. But Small said he's expecting plenty out of February. ...

A quick reservoir check: Lake Shasta, one of the biggest in the state, is 40 feet higher today than it was at the end of December. It's now up to 80 percent of average. It's rained more than 22 inches up there since Dec. 29.
