REGION: Down the mountain

Mountain bikers descend from the peak at Elfin Forest Recreational Reserve during the Racers and Chasers Mountain Bike Race on Saturday. The Elfin Forest Recreational Reserve, operated by Olivenhain Municipal Water District and owned by the San Diego County Water Authority hosted the bike race Saturday with more than 250 riders tackling the 5.5-mile course. The event included beginner, intermediate races and an advanced race.
